ABOUT THE PLAY

Tony nominee Tom Hewitt (Hadestown, The Rocky Horror Show) returns to what This Week in New York called “as intense and gripping a show as you’re ever likely to see.” In Another Medea, we meet the incarcerated Marcus Sharp, a charismatic and enigmatic New York actor who recounts in gruesome detail how his obsessions with a wealthy doctor named Jason and the myth of Medea lead to horrific, unspeakable events. At once ancient and contemporary, this intimately provocative 90-minute one-man thriller is Grand Guignol horror in the style of Spalding Gray. Written specifically for Hewitt by writer-director Aaron Mark (Amazon’s The Horror of Dolores Roach), Another Medea played acclaimed New York runs in 2013 and 2015 presented by All For One Theatre. For Halloween 2023, Hewitt and Mark remounted their original production for The Provincetown Theatre, named by the Cape Cod Times as a favorite performance of 2023.
